Mabul Island is a small island off the south-eastern coast of Sabah in Malaysia. The island has been a fishing village since the 1970s. In the 1990s, it first became popular to divers due to its proximity to Sipadan island. Located 15 km from Sipadan, this 20-hectare piece of land surfaces 2–3 metres above sea level, consists mostly flat grounds and aerial view is oval-shaped. Surrounding it are sandy beaches, perched on the northwest corner of a larger two-square-kilometre reef. Mabul island is administered as a part of Semporna, Tawau district.
Kapalai Island in Sabah, Malaysia is actually a large sandbar with a scenic resort built on stilts over the shallow crystal waters of the lagoon. It lies about 15 minutes by speedboat from the renowned Sipadan Island.
Day 1: Semporna Town - Mabul Island - Kapalai Island - Semporna Town
Car / Boat
07:45 am : Meet at the boat operator office in Semporna Jetty. Register and grab your snorkeling gear and get read to do your Mabul Island Day Trip with Kapalai Island Snorkeling Tour.
09.30am : Arrive at Mabul Island, rest and relax in Mabul Island and you can take some photos and participate in the local life.
10.30am: You will snorkel in Mabul Island – 1st snorkeling session of the day.
12:00 pm: Lunch at Mabul Island. Free & easy after lunch.
02.00 pm: Depart to Kapalai Island.
02.30 pm: Arrive at Kapalai Island, you will snorkel in Kapalai Island and this is the 2nd snorkeling session of the Mabul Island Day Trip.
17:00 pm: Back at Semporna Jetty. Tour ends.
